Love this place! In spite of the historical look from the outside, our cabin is very well outfitted. Very snug. The dining hall serves a very basic menu, which very much reminds me of eating in a military chow hall. Grounds are very well kept, and the staff has been very friendly and helpful.

This place is amazing! Truly a hidden gem in Hawaii, what a location! What a price! Absolutely must do for any military personnel visiting the area. Clean and spacious cabins, with all the food, recreation, supplies, and gas you could ever need for a quick stop or an extended staycation. An excellent location to relax, explore the vast outdoor areas, and view the stars. We plan on going back and would absolutely recommend to anyone.

So much fun. Bowling lanes are really nice and have side games and themes for your bowling game. The arcade was awesome with pinball and pool tables. Inexpensive family fun.

For the most part

Go to or call the front desk of the camp and ask to have your parent vouch for you, they will tell you what steps to take. Current or past military members have sponsored me to join the military camp gym in the past.

A good stretch is basically always under construction.. you will see why when you get there..?

The park was closed temporarily due to earthquake damage. Check current status before driving there.

We rented a car but I believe they have info related to shuttle service on their website

South side of the Big Island inside of Volcanoes National Park. A reservation is recommended, must be active duty or retired military.

Drive to the Volcanoes National Park entrance, drive past the visitor center, past the steam vents to the end of the road. Jagger is closed as is the road past KMC.
